Regino’s was founded in 1947 by Gregorios “George” Mazarakis, a Greek immigrant with a passion for great food and a deep love for the community he called home. George learned the art of cooking while serving in the Greek Navy and continued to perfect his culinary talent as the personal chef for a US Army General. It was there that he mastered the skills to cook for large groups, a talent that would become the foundation of what Regino’s is known for today — big, hearty portions that leave everyone satisfied.
Over the years, Regino’s has become more than just a restaurant — it’s a beloved institution. Whether it’s a casual dinner with friends or a special family gathering, we’ve been proud to serve the Norfolk community for over 75 years. Today, Regino’s is still run by the Mazarakis family, who continue to welcome guests with the same warmth, hospitality, and delicious food that made us a local favorite.
